GMG ships first G CELLS fast-charge pouch cells for customer testing

Graphene Manufacturing Group (GMG) has begun sending its G CELLS fast-charging pouch cells to potential customers for early-stage testing. The first batch has been sent out, and the company expects to supply more than 100 cells by the end of 2026. The initial target sectors include defense and heavy mobile equipment.

The pouch cells are about 1.5 Ah and designed to charge in six minutes. GMG developed and supplied the battery materials from its Brisbane Battery Development Centre, and the Battery Innovation Center of Indiana (BIC Indiana) assembled the cells. The recipients will test fast-charge capability, cycle life and energy efficiency in their own conditions and give feedback to guide development, optimization and scale-up.
