North Gyeongsang Province and the city of Pohang, together with POSTECH’s Nano Convergence Technology Institute, recently launched the K-Graphene Commercialization Council, an industry-academia-government body aimed at moving graphene research into commercial products.
Graphene’s electrical and thermal properties make it applicable across sectors including semiconductors, heat-dissipation materials, and transparent electrodes, but companies developing graphene-based products often lack access to facilities for process validation, testing, and certification needed to move from research results to mass production. The council is intended to link the capabilities of industry, academia, research institutes, and government to address that gap and support companies through the commercialization process.
